Prof. Sarah Dury
ACHTERGROND
Sarah Dury startte in oktober 2020 als tenure track professor in Agogische Wetenschappen, na postdoc research fellow te zijn geweest bij het Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (FWO). Sarah promoveerde binnen de Belgian Ageing Studies onderzoeksgroep in maart 2015 op een doctoraat getiteld 'Volunteering in later life: a focus on context' (promotor Dominique Verté). Haar onderzoek richt zich op participatie, sociale inclusie en compassionate gemeenschappen.
Ze is betrokken bij verschillende lokale, nationale en Europese onderzoeksprojecten. Sarah is coördinator van het Compassionate Communities Expertisecentrum van de Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Ze is co-promotor van het Sciensano-project CIVISANO (2019-2021), dat zich richt op de ontwikkeling van gezonde gemeenschappen door middel van participatief onderzoek met socio-economisch kwetsbare groepen. Sarah is ook co-promotor van het Europese CIVEX project (More Years Better Lives). Dit project onderzoekt de kenmerken en ervaringen van uitsluiting van maatschappelijke participatie op latere leeftijd. Ze coördineert ook het Erasmus+ project SEE ME (Social inclusion through Meaningful ageing) over hoe de kwaliteit van zorg en sociale inclusie voor ouderen kan worden verbeterd. Ze is partner van een H2020-project (2019-2023) en begeleidt zes PhD-studenten.
Sarah doceert de cursus Social design, co-creatie en innovatie. Ze is bestuurslid van SamenToujours.
